The Level Up Civics Foundation takes privacy seriously. This page explains what we collect, why, and how it is handled.
When an adult advisor registers and submits a team through the Official Team Submission form, we collect:
Virtual Tour videos may contain student names, voices, images, or student-created work.
We use this information to administer the Battle of the Counties competition: to identify participating schools and teams, to route entries to judges, and to coordinate County Finals and the Statewide Championship.
Submissions are visible to judges and admins only: Level Up Civics staff, competition judges, and the county offices of education coordinating your county's program. Nothing is posted publicly without the permissions maintained by the appropriate educational agency. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Registration and submission data is retained through the end of the competition year (the current program year concludes after the January 2027 Statewide Championship). After the program year, identifying student information is deleted. Aggregate and anonymized program data may be retained for reporting purposes.
Level Up Civics does not collect information directly from students, and it does not collect permission forms. All team information is submitted by the school's adult advisor. Parent/guardian permissions and media releases, including permission to use each student's voice and likeness, stay on file with the school, district, or county office of education. The submitting advisor confirms that the required permissions are on file before submitting.
The Official Team Submission form, including Virtual Tour uploads, is hosted by eKadence. That service has its own privacy policy.
